Welcome back, oh Actors!
[APPLAUSE]
I regret to inform you all that I am currently being 'shadowed' by a BBC Goon. They're pretending to be 'learning from me' whatever that means? But I fear they are in fact spying upon my activities and reporting to The Powers That Be.
[BOOO!]
And I've been asked to remind you that those very forces are now stepping up and taking charge, leaving me just a figure-head. Or so I figure. My opinion apparently doesn't count for much these days. And they've even asked me to read this prepared statement:
Now, when the Head Righter directed our ORG rounds they did sometimes contain errors, in fact the opening round of 'Survivor, But Cancelled' contained 27 mistakes alone! But for this new epic family saga round I can confidently announce there will be no more errors, no mishaps. Tonight everything will be perfrect. Perfrect? Perfect.
[LUKEWARM APPLAUSE]
Yes, this Episode everything will be
perfect. With plenty of 'thanks' to our BBC overlords and their entirely 'reasonable' demands. Today we're going to
have no choice but to play a
Safety Chain. It's a horrifyingly good fit for the culture of nepotism, favouritism and bribery in the BBC hierarchy, but I'm certain they'll fail to notice the irony.
[CRICKETS]
Actually, *checks notes* oh dear what the- Actually, we're playing
three Safety Chains. With two players eliminated. Oh and one coming back at some point? Well never mind them for now, here's the plan. Or at least, the best plan we could deduce from all the things the BBC doesn't think we're 'sufficiently competent' to perform.
[BOOO!]
There will be one
Tribe Safety Chain for the Prosecution, and one
Tribe Safety Chain for the Defence. Within your Tribe boards, we're going to start a Discussion Thread which will be the only place you can discuss things right now. So don't go sending PMS!
One of you - whoever won the legal fees Challenge last episode - will be given Safety. And then they'll need to pick somebody else in the Tribe, and give the Safety to them. They'll then give the Safety to somebody
else, and so on. Until only one
unlucky unpopular Actor will be left without Safety.
Once you've received Safety and handed it on, you'll then leave the Discussion Thread by joining a Member Group. Which will remove you from that board altogether, and let you talk in a Safe Thread instead, with everyone else from your Tribe who has also already received Safety and passed it along. The Challenge Winner who starts off the Chain has also won the right to remain in both those Threads through the entire Episode, but as far as everyone else goes: those already Safe can talk, those who not yet Safe can talk, and you will move from one of those Threads to the other once you are Safe and have discharged your duty of continuing the Chain. Okay.
[NODS OF UNDERSTANDING AND/OR CONFUSION]
However, we need to do the same thing in our joined rehearsals too. So there will be
a third , Joint Safety Chain which involves all the Actors across both Tribes. Once again there'll be an announcement with the Winner of the Challenge (thankfully it has a different winner among the larger group
![:ha](http://storage.proboards.com/7158043/images/VOvCOHdjdczxDlacdwiV.png)
), and they'll be given Safety to start with, and choose who to pass it on to first. Then they'll pass Safety to somebody else, who passes it to somebody
else, and so on, once again, until only one Actor remains without Safety. Once again, you'll have a Discussion Thread for those yet to receive Safety, and a Member Group to join once you've received and passed it on, which will move you to a separate Safe Thread instead. The Join Chain has one added complication, which may restrict who you are allowed to pass Safety on to, but you can read all about that in the designated thread.
[BOOOOOOOOOO! louder]
Now here are some basic rules about how the various Safety Chains
interact:
1.
You cannot pass Safety to the same player twice, across different Chains. So if the Composter passed Safety on to Special Defects in their Tribe Chain, and Composter later receives Safety in the Joint Chain, he would need to pick somebody other than Special Defects this time. This works the same way in the other direction; if Composter had given Safety to Special Defects in the Joint Chain fist, he would be unable to do so in their Tribe Chain.
2. The three
Challenge Winners will be Safe no matter what else happens this Episode. In any Chain they did not win, they can still be passed Safety and then pass it on. But the only practical effect it will have is moving them from the first Discussion Thread to the Safe Thread instead. And if any Winners never receive Safety in another Chain, that Chain will end when there is only one non-Winner left without Safety. So if Made Up Artist was the Winner for their Tribe, and the Joint Chain was down to just Made Up Artist and Boom Ops, then we'd end the Joint Chain with Boom Ops deemed the only player left without Safety.
3. Once all three Chains have finished, we will have
three vulnerable players, one from the bottom of each Chain. Of those three, whoever fared the best in the A Trial to P(l)ay Challenge (based on everyone's results) will be spared, and the other
two will be eliminated and sent to join the Sub-Actors.
If somebody winds up at the bottom of both their Tribe's Chain and the Joint Chain, we would only have two vulnerable players and this will not do! So in that event we'd take the last person to
receive Safety in each Chain, and make them vulnerable too. Meaning there could be up to five players deemed vulnerable, and once again the two who did the worst in the Challenge will be eliminated.
Because the Challenge you've already completed will play a role in eliminating two of you, and we don't want to kill all the suspense too,
you still must not discuss that Challenge at all, until this Episode is over.
There is also another mandated 'Fun' thread you should check out, titled 'Gauloashes?' and which will require you to repost an image, at some point during this Episode. Please get to it as soon as you can.
Finally, as loathe as I am to admit it after that disaster of an extended weekend... this is an Episode where all of you get to set the pace.
Whenever all the passing in the three Chains is completed, we'll announce the results and move on to the next Episode straight away, giving you all more time to sink into that. If things progress more slowly, we'll set a
hard deadline of 6:30pm Monday night GMT, which is 2:30pm Monday EDT for Americans (after their clocks change), and 6:30am Tuesday AEDT for Australians. Anyone still in a Discussion Thread by then will need to have left a preference list for who they would pass Safety to, and we'll automate the process to finish it off and announce who has been eliminated.
TL;DR - EPISODE FIVE
Your format is Survivor, but Repetitive.
- You cannot send PMs and still cannot discuss the money-counting Challenge.
- There are three Safety Chains: one for each Tribe and one Joint Chain for everyone.
- Starting with the Challenge winner, Safety will be passed from one player to the next in each chain, until only one of you remains without Safety.
- If/when you receive Safety, follow the instructions in each Safety Chain thread to pass it on, then join a Member Group so that you can talk in a Thread with other Safe players.
- Once all three Chains are finished, two of the players left on the bottom of the Chains will be eliminated, based on their performance in the money counting Challenge.
- If the Chains are still running on Monday, leave a preference order for you you'd like to pass Safety to, in your Decisions thread.
- Make sure to also make one more Decision in the Gauloashes? thread, as soon as possible.
No quesitons? Questions. None of those? Good. Prerfect.
[CHEER]
The actors are prepared, the stage is set. Please enjoy: Summer Once Again. And do your very best to stay Safe, and Safe once again.
