Not sure how to get started? This thread will tell even the lowliest Sub-Actor everything they need to know!
Whether or not you've written an acting guide book before (WHY!), a refresher can never hurt.
The Forum Layout
Is covered in this nifty screenshot:

The game logo is labelled 1. Wherever you are on this site, clicking it will return you to the home page.
Clicking 'Missives' or 'New Missive' (labelled 2) will allow you to send messages to your fellow Actors, and to view anything which they send to you.
If you happen to see an advertisement in the space between 2 and 3, you shouldn't pay any attention to it. These ads are intrusions into Proboards from Christmas-ruining capitalists, beyond our control... short of using an ad blocker.
The table labelled 3 contains various boards (for example 'Play of the Week'). If you keep scrolling down, you will see your private
Clicking on a board will show you all of the threads inside (for example 'Proboards for Dennises'), and clicking on a thread will show a discussion made up of posts by members of the site.
Posting:
When you enter a thread, you can make a post! Do so by scrolling to the bottom of the thread and typing in the Quick Response box. You can also click the "Response" button for a full set of tools (including extra Smileys

Posting Images:
Many challenges will require you to post images, so this is a skill you will need. It also works for gifs.
First you will need to know how to get the URL of an image. In most browsers you can simply right click on any image and you will see some option to the effect of 'Copy Image URL' or 'Copy Image Location'. This will put the URL of the image onto your clipboard.
To include the image in a post, you must then paste its URL in between IMG brackets. These are IMG brackets:
[IMG][/IMG]
You must use the square brackets for this to work, and you must type the "/ " in the closing tag. For example this code:
[IMG]https://i.imgur.com/6F63kYf.jpeg[/IMG]
Returns the screenshot you saw above.
Having the " / " inside the second brackets (but not the first) is very important or it will not work.
Alternatively you may insert an image by clicking this 'img' button:

Simply paste the URL into the box which pops up and then click 'insert image'.
To recap:
- Copy Image URL or Copy Image Location saves an image link to your clipboard.
- Putting that URL between IMG and /IMG in square brackets will post the image.
- You must remember the slash, and the square brackets.
Uploading Images:
For some Challenges, you will need to create an image using Paint or another image editing program.
You will then need to upload your image to the internet using an image hosting site. To do this:
1. Save the created/edited image file.
2. Go to www.imgur.com (or any other image hosting site, though the rest of these instructions relate to Imgur specifically).
3. Click the green 'New post' button, then 'Choose Photo/Video'.
4. Select the file from wherever you have saved it.
5. Once your images appears on the screen, right-click on it and select 'copy image address'.
This will give you the image's URL, which you can then post as per the above section.
You must take care that any image you upload and post does not breach ID rules, either by showing a personal detail (in a full screenshot, for instance) or by using a hosting site that records personal information (like your IP address) when it stores the image - this is why we recommend Imgur.
Note that Imgur has recently begun to purge images which are uploaded by guest users, on an unspecified timeframe. Thus we would prefer that you create an Imgur account and log into it before uploading images - otherwise this board will one day be full of broken image links). Note that images uploaded through your Imgur account are still considered 'anonymous' as anyone given the image link, or seeing the image posted elsewhere, cannot determine anything about the account from which it was uploaded.
Also note the Discord has also begun purging images uploaded through it, also on an unspecified timeframe. Hence we would prefer that you avoid using Discord in place of an image hosting website.
Private Missives (PMs):
This is the most important function in this game, as the messaging system will let you communicate with your Tribemates privately. Fortunately it is infinitely easier to use: just click the "Missives" tab at the top of your screen to view your inbox and reply to your received missives. Whenever you have a new missive, there will be a floating number above that tab.
When you send a Private Missive to someone it will start a conversation which is essentially the same as a thread, except only involving the people you wish to contact.
To create a new PM, simply click the 'New Message' button on the 'Missives' screen.
To select the recipient/s of your message, write their name in the space titled "Enter a username" and their name and avatar will pop up. Click on them and they'll be added to the list of recipients! For moderation purposes, the '@ChimeraMan' account (used by all the Crew) must be included in every message - see that thread for more details. Note that you can always press 'New Missive' on the header menu to start a conversation with the Chimera Man already added.
Your Profile:
Clicking the "Profile" tab at the top of your screen will bring you to your personal Profile page. There you may view any notifications you receive (when you have any waiting, they will pop up as as a floating number above this tab).
There are also various profile settings and features which can be edited. However, we have already prepared all these options in a very specific way, so you must not edit any part of your profile without first contacting the Head Righter and receiving permission for your intended change, prior to doing so.
Anything Else?
Ask!
The easiest way to ask us something is to post the question somewhere in your confessional. If your question is particularly urgent, you can tag a Crew member by writing the " @ " symbol followed by their first name, which will send them an extra notification. For best results, choose a Crew member who appears on the online list at the bottom of the home page.
