This is your fault, Head Righter. Trying to cut costs, getting Composters' dad to do the set. And you got that toymaker to do all the portraits. He's never done anything other than lager-larger-beer-bears before.

In this Challenge you will be presented with four Pictures which have been hung up incorrectly. And you will need to rotate them one at a time, using a Randomised Roller, until you have them all hanging the right way up. If you are prepared to post quickly and have some luck on your side, it will be extremely short, and extremely simple. If you are slower or less lucky, it could be significantly longer, but still extremely simple.
You can begin the Challenge by joining the Member Group '180 Degrees', any time after you have been assigned a place in the Inheritance Order and thus know your Degree of Difficulty (which is the time limit you will be attempting to beat). However, once you do play the Challenge you will be unable to communicate with any of the other players for the rest of the Episode, so do bear that in mind.
When you join the Member Group, you will receive two things: four Pictures to be rotated, each with a helpful arrow on them. And also a link to a Randomised Roller. The URL for the link will be incomplete; you'll need to add a specific Password to the end of it (which will help us log your Rolls and ascertain that you have not cheated in any way). I'll be dropping into your Challenge threads shortly to give you your individual, unique Password - obviously you should not share this with anybody.
Once you add your Password to the end of the URL, you'll see a big 'ROLL' button. And when you press it, it will tell you in which direction to Rotate your Picture next. There is an even probability of it telling you to rotate 90 Degrees clockwise, or 90 Degrees anticlockwise, and a helpful arrow will even pop up to ensure you don't get your directions confused.
The Randomised Roller has three more helpful features: when you press the ROLL button and a new direction loads, it will be blurred over for a moment at first, so that you can clearly see that a new direction has loaded, even if it is the same as the direction which was rolled previously. It will also display an approximate timestamp for the last time you rolled, so you should never be left uncertain whether you just clicked it or not. And the ROLL button will change colour for 10 seconds, during which time you will be unable to press it again.
The actual gameplay of this Challenge will involve alternating between posting in your Challenge thread, and pressing the ROLL button on the Randomised Roller. A full example is played out in the spoiler tags below, but here are the general rules:
First, you'll make a post identifying which Picture you wish to rotate first. You'll do this by naming the arrow colour for that image. For instance, you might post: "Rotating the Picture with the red arrow".
Then you'll press the ROLL button and see which direction it spits out.
Next, you'll need to work out which direction the arrow on the Picture would now be facing, and post it in your Challenge thread.
So if the original Picture you were given had an arrow pointing down, and you were directed to rotate it clockwise, then your next post should state "Red arrow now points left." Or if the Randomised Roller told you to rotate anticlockwise, then your next post would be "Red arrow now points right."
Then you would return to the Randomised Roller, and see what your next rotation should be. And then post the result in your Challenge thread. And then repeat as many times as necessary until the arrow on the picture you chose is finally pointing upward. Once that happens, your next post should confirm that the Picture is now the right way up, and also select the next Picture you wish to work on. So you wold post: "Red arrow points up. Now rotating the Picture with the orange arrow."
Then you repeat the process again for the second Picture, until its arrow is pointing upwards. Then the third Picture, and the Fourth. At which point you'll need to make one final post stating that the last arrow now points up. And then you'll be finished. We'll calculate the time between your joining the Member Group and that final post, then compare it to the time limit for your Degree of Difficulty and let you know whether you've completed the Challenge in time, or have failed to do so and will be at risk of elimination.
Here is a simulated run of the Challenge. It uses only two Pictures rather than the four you will receive in the actual Challenge, but should be enough for you to get the idea.
Let's say that you've been given the Password: "example1"
You'd start by joining the Member Group '180 Degrees' which then lets you see this introductory post:
Your images to rotate are:

To begin the Challenge, copy this link and then add your personal Password to the end of the URL:
thegoeswrongorg.boards.net/page/examplelinkpassword=
So to access the Randomised Roller, you'd need to go to thegoeswrongorg.boards.net/page/examplelinkpassword=example1 (note this is not the correct link; you'll get the real one in the actual Challenge).
Once you go there, you will see a big ROLL button which looks
![](https://i.gyazo.com/527e9e3445911d6a4ad8ce11f9864952.png)
Now go to your Challenge thread, and pick the first Picture you wish to rotate. Like so:
Rotating the Picture with the red arrow.
The arrow on this picture is currently pointing left, and our goal is to get it pointing up.
So we return to the Randomised Roller, press the big button, and let's say the result is this:
![](https://i.gyazo.com/d2234b72ee2312205be15a7dbc635bf9.png)
So we'd need to mentally rotate our Picture/arrow 90 Degrees anticlockwise, which unfortunately would turn it upside down like so:
![](https://i.imgur.com/FJktzx2.jpeg)
(Note that you do not have to actually rotate, upload or post any images during this Challenge - I'm only showing you that to help you visualise what is going on.)
Now we return to the Challenge thread, and post:
Red arrow now pointing down.
Then we press the big button on the Randomised Roller again, and let's say this time we get a different result:
![](https://i.gyazo.com/2eafbb523a8840ad071fee58ab8d8863.png)
So we mentally rotate the Picture back the other way, and then confirm the result by posting this in our Challenge thread:
Red arrow now points left.
And then we roll again. And luckily, it's another clockwise turn:
![](https://i.gyazo.com/2eafbb523a8840ad071fee58ab8d8863.png)
This is lucky because it moves the arrow upright and corrects the Picture, like so:
![](https://i.imgur.com/ApKoLcK.jpeg)
(Once again, this image is for illustrative purposes only; you do not need to actually rotate any images.)
So because the Picture is now the right way up, we have to confirm this in our Challenge thread and also select our next Picture to rotate, in the same post:
Red arrow points up. Now rotating the Picture with the orange arrow.
And then we return to the Randomised Roller, but now we're taking directions for the second Picture, with the orange arrow. This one begins pointing downward.
Our first roll gives us this:
![](https://i.gyazo.com/d2234b72ee2312205be15a7dbc635bf9.png)
Which would rotate the Picture like so (and this is once again an example only, you do not need to rotate/post this step):
![](https://i.imgur.com/a9gz0mx.jpeg)
So we go back to the Challenge thread and post:
Orange arrow now points right.
And then we roll again, and...
![](https://i.gyazo.com/d2234b72ee2312205be15a7dbc635bf9.png)
Thankfully, this would turn the arrow so that it is pointing upward, like so:
![](https://i.imgur.com/OHQrAhV.jpeg)
Which means we can move on to the next picture by picking another arrow colour.
Except that in our example run there only are two pictures, so we can skip ahead to the final post needed to end the Challenge:
Orange arrow now points up.
And that's it!
We'd wait for a Crew member to come by and tell us how well we did, and how well we needed to do. They will check the log of all your rolls, and make sure that you rotated and tracked all your arrows correctly based on the rolls generated for you. Then they'll share the results, like so:
The time limit for your Degree of Difficulty was: 5 minutes.
And you completed this Challenge in: 4 minutes and 23 seconds. Well done!
Please wait for everyone else to play the Challenge, and then we will move you right along and into the next Episode.
And you completed this Challenge in: 4 minutes and 23 seconds. Well done!

Or perhaps, like so:
The time limit for your Degree of Difficulty was: 4 minutes.
And you completed this Challenge in: 4 minutes and 23 seconds. Unfortunately.
Please wait for everyone else to play the Challenge, and then we will tell you whether anyone ahead of you in the Inheritance Order also failed to complete the Challenge in time. If so, we will move you right along and into the next Episode. But if not... you will be eliminated.

As explained in the Format post, whoever fails to complete this Challenge in the time allotted to them based their placement in the Inheritance Order, and thus their Degree of Difficulty, will be at risk of elimination this round. And the eliminated player will be whoever failed the Challenge at the lowest Degree of Difficulty, from the earliest in the Inheritance Order, with the most time allotted to them.
Note that there are two ways to improve your time in this Challenge. You can hope to get luckier - for instance, we could have completed this example run in just 3 rolls if they had been the right ones. Or you can be quicker at switching between the Randomised Roller and making posts in your Challenge thread. The 10 second lockout on pressing the ROLL button matches the board's flood control which prevents you from posting twice within 10 seconds. So if you can both roll and post the result within 15 seconds, say, and keep up that rate consistently for every rotation, over and over - well you'd be a lot more likely to succeed than somebody who takes 30 seconds between rolls or posts.
Finally. We're not going to tell you what the time limits are for each Degree of Difficulty. You'll only find that out after you've completed the Challenge. This is because we do want everyone to try playing the Challenge to the best of their ability, whatever Degree of Difficulty they are facing. And because we'd rather the later players in the Inheritance Order not have the added pressure of a specific time countdown. All you need to know is that each player in the Inheritance Order has a shorter time limit than the player before them, and the differences between each of the successive time limits is roughly the same, with just a little bit of rounding off. So please just give it a go, do your best, and we'll tell you afterwards whether that was enough. (For full transparency though, we will be sharing the full set of time limits with the Audience before any of you play the Challenge.)
The latest time to complete this Challenge is by 10:30pm Thursday EDT (American time),
which is 2:30am Friday GMT (European time) and 1:30pm Friday AEDT (Australian time).
Though hopefully we'll be done before then - it's up to all of you.
Do not discuss the intricacies of the Challenge until after the deadline.
You can talk about it in very general terms, eg "I think I'll fail miserably at it," or "I think I can do it quickly."
But don't get into specifics about advice, mechanics or techniques for how it should be played.

If you have any questions, probably best to ask them in Confessional. And if it's about a clarification we think that everyone should understand, we'll post the answer in this thread.
Good luck!
