Um.... we seem to have experienced a glitch in our Episode chronology. I apologise, and insist that it shall
not happen again.
[WIDESPREAD FROWNING AND AUDIBLE TUT-TUT-ING ]
But there isn't much I can do about it at this stage. So we'll just have to accept that NAME and NAME have turned from the last remaining Inmates into our two fresh Manure Boys.
And instead of the scheduled
Spoon-Knife-Fight (oh, I can say that now!) it seems that we will be having a good old fashioned matchup of... something called... *checks notes*
'Betting Stove Boy Wig'?
[UNCERTAIN APPLAUSE]
I'll deliver a monologue explaining the Rules once I've taken a few seconds to review them myself. But from what I gather the short version is that they'll be gathering clumps of manure, there's a sandstorm which we'll skip, and then one of them will be eliminated from the Game for failing to drown in shit quickly enough. It makes sense in context... something about loss.
But even though only Richard and Scrooge will be competing in it and facing the prospect of elimination, all six of you shall be participating to some extent - potentially helping or hurting the chances of either competitor returning to the Game. And *double-checks notes* so will the six Critics.
[SHUDDERING]
All the details will be in the Betting Stove Boy Wig thread, but for now I need you all to know about two things:
First. The four of you who are not Manure Boys will need to make a
Decision, choosing between three potential moves. Please get to that as soon as you can.
And second. We did not budget for any PMs in the Summer Once Again Episode, so we're stretched rather thin and every word you produce on this forum costs us time, money, and sanity. So until this Episode ends, everyone may send
PMs, but with three very important restrictions (two of which are entirely new and different to last time):
1. You can still only send
one-one-one. So there are to be no group Missive chains.
2. Your new word limit is:
12 words...
3. But that
word limit will shrink,
with every successive PM sent between two people, to
one word fewer than the previous PM.
So if I were PMing the
The BBC to file a complaint, I might say:
Which is 12 words. But in their response, the new word limit will be 11 words:
And then I would have just 10 words to use:
Leaving them with up to 9 words to use:
But - a twist! - they only used 7 words. Which means that my next missive may only go up to 6 words:
And because I got back at them in kind by only using 5 words, they are now limited to 4:
And as they used 2, all I can say back is:
[Note that this exchange is entirely fictional, bears no resemblance to any existing emails between actual people in reality, and the PM Rules for this half of the Episode are not even slightly based on any negative experiences I may or may not have suffered at the hands of my legally unimpeachable employers.]
Finally, as far as the
schedule is concerned. Betting Stove Boy Wig could be stretched out over the whole weekend, or it could happen rather quickly everyone gets their Decisions made reasonably soon, and our two Manure Boys are able to work out a time when they can both be online. I'm going to be in touch with both of them, and will let you know once we have a more definitive schedule in place. But for now please just focus on getting your Decisions made, so that moving on sooner can be a real possibility.
TL;DR - EPISODE TWELVE AGAIN
Your format is Not Survivor Again.
- Richard and Scrooge will be facing off in their Spoonfight duel of Betting Stove Boy Wig.
- Everyone else will have the opportunity to assist them, if you wish to do so.
- You'll also need to choose one of Stove, Boy or Wig, in your Decision thread ASAP.
- In the meantime, you can only PM one-on-one, with a shrinking word limit from 12 words down.
