Prepare to see wonders, thrills and delights,
Magic and marvels, incredible sights!
Magic and marvels, incredible sights!
Aunt Diana Rigg as Narrator Chris as Ebenezer Scrooge Sir David Suchet as Narrator Robert as Irrelevant Trumpeter
Come on in guys! (If we're allowed to say that?) Ahoy, Final Four! And welcome to this, your Final Immunity Challenge.
It has Been. An. ORG. Some things have gone Right. And some things have gone Wrong. Very Wrong. And all of that is worth celebrating!
Yet it could not have been at all the same ORG, Right or Wrong, without the full ensemble of Actors, Sub-Actors and even the fallen Critics. *shudder*
So it is only appropriate that this ensemble piece ends with a tribute to your history in this Game, and with those ex-players.
On Sex Designer's largest Set yet! Yes, even larger than The Lodge
This Challenge will test your knowledge of the Episodes and Actors of The Goes Wrong ORG.
Your goal will be to move through 17 Levels. In each one you will be asked to post an Episode, or multiple Episodes, which match a particular criterion. Which you'll do by sharing an image especially designated for that Episode. Each image can only be used once.
So for instance, if the first Level's criterion was:
Episodes which went Wrong by running longer than the Head Righter had hoped.
You might post:
Level One:
You'd then progress to the second Level, where you'll find another criterion to be met. For which you'd need to name a different Episode. For instance:
Episodes which went Wrong by having a Challenge no conclusive results could be drawn from.
So perhaps you would name:
Level Two:
Then say you advanced to the third Level, only to find the criterion:
Two Episodes which went Wrong by both having Trevor as the boot.
...And here you'd run into a problem - because the Episodes being asked for here are Episode 2 and Episode 4... but you've already used those images up!
In this example you'd have failed this third Level. But with hindsight - or with foresight, if you knew what criteria would be coming up in future Levels - you might have selected a different combination of Episodes in the earlier Levels. Because you could have posted Episode 6 for the first Level, and Episode 1 for the second Level, and then had both Episode 2 and Episode 4 free to use when you reached the third Level, thus passing all three Levels.
The actual Challenge will work in the same way, only on a much larger scale:
You'll get two images representing each Episode, meaning that you'll get to use each Episode twice, and twice only.
It also means you'll begin by being given a total of 28 images, which must each be posted just once throughout the Challenge.
There will be seventeen Levels to move through.
Sometimes a Level will give you a criterion which can only be fulfilled by a very specific Episode (or set of Episodes) - like the question with Trevor, above.
Other times you'll get a criterion you could post almost any Episode image for, like 'An Episode which went Wrong by staring and ending in the evenings for wildly different timezones.'
And of course, you could get anything in between, where maybe three Episodes could meet the criterion, or five, etc - and it will be up to you to figure out which ones, and then decide which would be best to post - taking into account what other criteria may yet pop up in the future Levels.
To move through the Challenge, you'll need to follow these three steps, on loop:
1. Join a Member Group.
2. Read the criteria for the Level.
3. Post one of the Episode Images in your Challenge thread, also typing out what Level you are attempting to fulfill.
So to start, you'll need to join the Member Group 'So Wrong, Farewell - Level One'. Then you'll see the board for this Challenge on the home page (which will have a thread containing all 28 Episode images; which will be different to the example ones used in this writeup). And also a sub-board titled 'Level One'. Read the criterion for Level One inside that sub-board, figure out which Episode image/s you'd like to use up on that level, then go to your Challenge thread and post something like this:
Level One:
And then you start those three steps over again. Join a different Member Group called 'Farewell Level Two'. This will enable you to see a new sub-board, containing the criterion for Level Two. Read that, pick the image/s corresponding to the Episode/s you'd like to use, then post them in your Challenge thread.
Then join the Member Group called 'Farewell Level Three'... and so on. Until eventually you've joined 'Farewell Level Seventeen' and posted whatever image/s you still have left into your Challenge thread, thereby ending the Challenge. Yes, that's a lot of Member Groups which will be open to you. Yes, you'll need to be extra careful to join them in the right order, at the right time. But if it's any consolation - this Challenge generally gets easier once you have fewer images to choose between, even when the criteria might seem trickier.
But the most important thing to remember through all of this is:
You must post your Episode image/s for each Level
BEFORE
you move on to the next Level and Member Group.
Once you finish Level Seventeen and exhaust all 28 of your Episode images, you'll be done with the Challenge. To score you, we'll measure the time from your joining the original Member Group to start the Challenge, to your posting the final Episode image/s. And then we'll add penalty time, using this Rule:
For every Episode image which does not match a Level's criterion,
you will gain FIVE MINUTES of penalty time.
Note that it's possible to be Wrong in different ways, depending on the criterion. So if we look back at this criterion:
Episodes which went Wrong by having a Challenge no conclusive results could be drawn from.
The Crew would already have a list of Episodes meeting that requirement, so you'd just need to use any one of them. Or if the criterion had asked for two Episodes, any two of them would work. And if you'd posted images for Episode 1 (which would be Right) and for Episode 10 (which would be Wrong) then you'd have one image correct out of two, and receive one five-minute penalty.
But if the criterion you saw earlier about Trevor had been worded differently, without specifying his name, like so:
A pair of Episodes which went Wrong by both ending with the same player booted.
Then there would be different combinations of Episodes which work together - 2 and 4, for Trevor, say; or perhaps 3 and 8, for Justice. But if you posted images for Episode 2 and Episode 3 - you'd be Wrong and gain two penalties for a total of 10 extra minutes, one for each Wrong image... even though both those images could have been Right if you'd paired them properly.
One last note about the penalties: there's a chance they become unavoidable, especially toward the end of the Challenge. For instance:
An Episode which went Wrong by staring and ending in the evenings for wildly different timezones.
If that seemingly easy criterion came up in Level 17, and the only Episode image you had left to post was for Episode 12 (which both started and ended in the Australian evening) - you'd have no choice but to post that image anyway, and accept that penalty. Even though the same criterion at any other Level could have been met correctly by almost any other Episode.
There is a way to use up all the Episode images without getting any criterion Wrong, and without getting any penalties. But you'd have to get awfully lucky to guess it correctly, and follow a perfect path all the way from Stage One and on...
So at this point you should know exactly how this Challenge works.
And you should also be very confused! Because surely it makes no sense for you to get penalised for something you cannot help, for future criteria you cannot predict
But here's the thing - all the criteria for all the Levels will be predictable!
You will be able to gain foresight of upcoming Level's criteria.
You will be able to gain foresight of upcoming Level's criteria.
Because this Challenge has a second aspect, which you can work through independently of your progress on everything stated above.
In addition to the sub-boards for Level One, Level Two, etc, which you'll uncover as you join each Member Group. There'll also be one more sub-board, called 'Actors'.
And if you click on it, you'll find it has seventeen sub-boards. It will look just like this:
Each sub-board is named for a different Actor who has been eliminated from this ORG.
And those blurred out subtitles on each sub-board? Those are all questions, about the eliminated Actor featured on that sub-board.
If you try to enter any of those sub-boards, you'll be asked to input a password - which will be the answer to the question in the subtitle.
For instance. Let's say it were a sub-board dedicated to our friendly soon-to-be-ex-Chimera Man . With this question as the subtitle:
How many Actors only included Chimera Man to their Missives because they were forced to, and aren't actually friends with him? Write your answer in words. For instance: 'threefakefriends' but replacing the number 'three' with the actual correct answer.
The correct password would be:'twentyonefakefriends'.
Note that all the passwords are made up of lowercase letters only. No digits, no capitals, no spaces, no punctuation. The questions will always tell you exactly how to phrase your answer, like in the example. And in any instances where you need to name one an eliminated Actor, you should name them by their username (look on the Members page if you aren't sure what these are).
So if you were asked:
Which Actor was voted out of Team Harris in Episode 3?
Write your answer in words. For instance: 'bootlesforname' but replacing 'name' with the correct answer.
Write your answer in words. For instance: 'bootlesforname' but replacing 'name' with the correct answer.
The correct password would be 'bootlesfortootles'. Because 'tootles' is their username.
If you tried to put them in as 'lucy' or 'lostboytootles' or 'lucyaslostboytootles' it would not work.
If you tried to put them in as 'lucy' or 'lostboytootles' or 'lucyaslostboytootles' it would not work.
As for why you would bother cracking all these passwords, when you have a timed Challenge to worry about, and 17 levels to get through? Well...
Every time you unlock an Actor's sub-board,
you will get to see one criterion from one Level in the Challenge.
But you will know that it is a criterion for one of the seventeen Levels. And that can be incredibly powerful knowledge to have.
If you scroll back up to the first set of example criteria and Episode images, where we got stuck having used up the images Episode 2 and Episode 4, only to find they were needed at a later Level - well if you'd unlocked an Actor's sub-board and seen the criterion about Trevor in advance, you could have made sure to keep at least one Episode image for each of those Episodes, unused elsewhere, held in reserve until you reached the Level with that criterion.
And in theory, you could unlock all the Actors' sub-boards before advancing beyond Level One. Allowing you to make a fully informed decision about which Episode images should be posted - even in Level One - to ensure that you can use every Episode exactly twice, and move through all 17 Levels without any Wrong images, or any time penalties.
Of course, you'll need to weigh up for yourself how much time to spend cracking the sub-board passwords. Perhaps some of them would take so long, you'd be better off accepting a potential five-minute penalty for being Wrong at some point? But perhaps not?
You can approach this second part of the Challenge however you like. So long as you don't deviate from the main part's three-move cycle (join a Member Group for a Level, read its criterion, post the Episode images for it before joining the next Level/Member Group, X 17), you can focus on the Actor sub-boards for as long as you like, whenever you like. They'll be most valuable at the start of the Challenge, when almost all of them will let you see criteria you haven't encountered yet. But if you want to circle back to try them when you only have a few Levels to go, you absolutely can - it's entirely up to you.
Finally. In case it is not obvious, this Challenge will make reference to many things from the past 13 Episodes, from Episode 1 right up to the present one, Episode 14.
So before you play the Challenge, do make sure that you have familiarised yourself with the current Format, not just historical things.
Also, for Diana and Suchet: there will be references to Episode 1, which you were not present for - but we'll only ask about aspects of it which you could have accessed/discovered/confirmed for yourselves, after the fact. For instance, I'll explicitly warn you to have a go at playing Challenge 1 if you have not already tried your luck with it. The writeup post for it has been sitting in the Acting Workshops since you joined the Game, and the opening instructions containing the first Trigger for it can be found in the 'Past Challenge Boards' sub-board, within the Acting Workshops.
Whoever finishes the Challenge in the least time, including penalties, will with Final Immunity, a guaranteed place at the Final Tribal Council, and the opportunity to pick one other Actor to sit there alongside them.
Those high enough stakes?
You must complete this Challenge by... DEADLINE TO BE DETERMINED.
See the Scheduling thread But in short I want to make sure everyone has enough time to prepare, and then play this uninterrupted.
Do not discuss the Challenge AT ALL until after the deadline (once it's set).
